Procrastination, a threat to your Success!!

Procrastination is the habit of delaying or postponing a given task needlessly. It's a wrong habit most of us have developed overtime, which lead us to anxiety. Procrastinators keep delaying their responsibilities, duties and assignments, cramping the entire work load. Researchers have found that procrastination leads to stress, insomnia and issues that can even be life threatening.
All of us would have experienced the above circumstances, up to some extent in different levels. Being a student I have been going through such situation when some of the workload was put on hold. Guilty of procrastination myself, I came across these few tips below which I thought of sharing with you.
  • Stop lying to yourself! Don’t try to tell yourself, “I’ll do it later.” Do it NOW! When you tell yourself lies, you then make up more lies to cover the original set of lies.
  • Set realistic goals and work toward them. Set your goals ahead and work towards them.
  • Give yourself rewards for a job well done. If you complete a task by your self-imposed deadline, reward yourself, like spend your free time on Facebook , or watch your favorite TV series!
  • Stick to your deadlines! One of our most favorite cheats is to change the deadlines repeatedly, so we can continue to procrastinate. It sounds like fun in the beginning, but we have chores and things-to-do that we’ve put off for months that way.
These tips have helped me a lot, not to delay any workload. Hence I am pretty sure that you can overcome procrastination too, if you follow the above guidelines.
